Where
to Obtain a Marriage License in Massachusetts
In
Massachusetts the legal age for marriage is 18 years old, and couples
under 18 must have parental consent. Residency is not
required. Both bride and groom must apply together and in person to
sign the marriage license - the application process takes approximately 20
- 40 minutes to complete. There is a three day waiting period to
obtain the license, which is valid for 60 days in the state of
Massachusetts only. A blood test within 30 days is necessary -
which can be obtained by your family physician or walk in clinic. If
previously married you must know the dates of divorce or death. In
Massachusetts you can apply for a marriage license at any town or city
